Date Night at 108 Brasserie, London
I eat out quite a bit, but I never seem to leave satisfied with the service or the food, there always seems to be something that goes drastically wrong, causing us to leave and never return, BUT not at 108 Brasserie, our date night here definitely restored my faith in both service and delicious food when dining out.
I was invited to 108 Brasserie for a 3 course dinner and being the generous fiance I am (haha) I decided to take my better half to enjoy it with me. As I arrived, I was greeted by very friendly front of house staff, which already kicked off a great first impression of the place to me.
The venue itself is really gorgeous, 108 Brasserie can be found in Marylebone, just off the high street, with an outside seating area for those warm summer nights, and indoor dining and bar area. 108 Brasserie serves up dishes seven days a week, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including afternoon tea at 108 Pantry.
For starter I recommend the Burrata, it was so tasty and full of flavour. Being the part time carnivore I am, I opted for a steak as a main, now when I asked for it well-done, the waiter frowned and said “Miss, no no no no, you will not want that”, I did tell him I really did though (lol) as I struggle to eat meat unless it’s basically chargrilled, and majority of restaurants that I visit and ask for it well-done, still serve it rare (ew). I took his advice and went for medium (OMG), with a warning sign to him that I had no fear of sending it straight back to the kitchen, however to my surprise and utter astonishment I didn’t need to send it back, it was cooked to perfection, the chef had “butterflied it” to cook it all the way through, (even bae was surprised at my surprise). For you meat lovers, I’d definitely go with the steak with the peppercorn sauce (mouth’s watering just writing this). The best part of dining out for me though is always the desert menu, I have a major sweet tooth and will do anything to make room for it, even if it means undoing my trouser button under the table (true fact, this happens far too often actually). My sugar hit came from the apple crumble and wow it hit the spot (mouth waters again). Perfectly crumbley crumble served hot with a scoop of ice cream, how British of us hey!
The menu at 108 Brasserie caters for dietary requirements too, offering a range of gluten free dishes, sauces and sides. Something we all need to be aware of in today’s society.
It was truly a delicious meal, with exceptional service through out the evening and highly recommended date night spot (or day if you’re in the friend zone). Tuck yourself in the dining area and enjoy being hidden from the hustle and bustle of central London, such a great place to take a break and devour some delectable food with friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, family, whoever, it’s worth a visit!
Even if you go just for the apple crumble, let me know how you find your experience :)
Happy dining!
